This past week I went to San Francisco to visit my friends. The trip here was horrible since my flight and the two flights after were either canceled or rerouted. It took me 12hours to get to SF from OC. What a nightmare..
Today, we shall talk about food. For MLK day, we went to get brunch at Kitchen Story. This place had an extremely long line. Imagine waiting outside shaking and bobbing up and down to relieve yourself of the cold..for 2hours (One of those hours were spent waiting for my friends to arrive). I felt like I came home sick after.

Kitchen Story has a sister location called Sweet Maple, if you’re interested. However, the line is just as long.
The most popular item on Kitchen Story’s menu is probably the Millionaire’s Bacon, as all the staff were wearing merch advertising their bacon.

We deviated from the Millionaire’s Bacon so we could save our stomach for dessert after.

I had the omelet, which tasted pretty good. I wish there was more sausage vs. bell peppers though. After I finished eating, I could feel the food lingering around my epigastric region, I felt so full. Like the asian saying: 饱到上心口.
Next, we went next door (literally) to U: Dessert Story. I was freezing so I didn’t get to take pictures of the exterior. After about a 30min wait, we were seated at our table. It’s not like other dessert places where you order and take a seat wherever.

I was so full, I could not eat. I ordered a cup of organic jasmine rose tea instead. My two friends ordered their dessert.

The crepe cakes are their most ordered item as you don’t find a lot of places serving that. I watched the staff carefully prepare the the cake by adding layers and layers of thin crepe- seemed tedious to me.
What I found interesting about the matcha bingsoo is that there is a little container of condensed milk to pour over the matcha to add a hint of sweet mess. The matcha bingsoo in LA is not like that- but again, the matcha is also less concentrated.
I definitely overindulged myself today and ending up skipping dinner since there was really no room left. However, I do recommend the two dining places if you don’t mind the wait. 👍
