dineL.A. @ Rock Sugar

Have you ever heard of dine LA? Basically it’s a twice a year 15 day event hosted by the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board. Its objective is to introduce the culinary delicacies of Los Angeles to diners. You are able to eat special meals at participating restaurants for a select price. Some may even utilize this chance to eat some rare steak at a steakhouse for a fraction of the original price! HINT HINT.

I was visiting my friend in Los Angeles and we chose to eat at Rock Sugar. The decision was made not only because it served an interesting Asian menu but also because it was located inside Westfield Century City mall (so we could do some shopping afterwards haha). 🤣

Look at the interesting decor, it seems to have a lot of Thai influences– with all the Buddha heads and statues above the booths.

We ordered the Jasmine Pearl tea cause we are extra. I’m kidding. It’s because it was raining and we wanted something warm.

Green mango and papaya salad
Grapefruit Jicama Salad
Malaysian Salmon
Singapore Hainan Pork

The salmon was a bit spicy and the pork was similar to katsu. The sauce was sweet and sour.

DineLA is definitely something to try out, especially because LA really does have a lot of unique cuisines. Come discover a bit of LA by eating your way around– that really is the best way.
